When we set out to build YourLume, the goal was never just to create another productivity tool. It was to build something that genuinely lives alongside the people who use it.
Every startup has its own version of the lessons it learned. The things that seemed important early on that turned out not to be, the things that were overlooked that turned out to matter a lot, and the slow realisation that building something people actually use is a very different challenge from building something you are proud of. So, this is ours.

At what point did managing your tools become the actual job?
The concept of deep work is not complicated. It is the ability to focus on a cognitively demanding task without distraction, for long enough that you actually make progress on it. It does not have notifications, tab switching or half attention. It is just you and the thing you are trying to understand.
Early stage startups rarely get the chance to be in the same room as the people shaping the future of technology, and Cambridge Tech Week is one of those rare exceptions.
